Then v. Now

February 2021 looks a lot different than February 2020. We were unaware of what the "Corona" virus was really going to be like. It was a "their" problem. We were just jumping into a new decade, and honestly the only thing on my mind this time last year was our trip to the Bahamas and making sure we had everything in place for the girls to be on their own with Grandma Pat.

A year later, wow. I'm fairly certain, the day after we came back, the cough I had was COVID. I know it was. As someone who seems to get bronchitis every fall, I know it was NOT bronchitis. I have never felt like that and pray I never do again. Thankfully when Kris and the girls got COVID in November, it was mild for all of them. On the bright side, I didn't get bronchitis this past fall.

Watching the past year take it's toll on my father in law's health has been hard. He had 3 heart attacks last week. We are pretty sure his first heart attack in March 2020, he came home with COVID. I can't help but wonder if all of the health issues he's had this year aren't related to that. I don't think I've ever prayed as hard as I have for our parents and kids this past year.

The school year has been so disappointing for the girls. P2 we've put in complete remote learning, since the hybrid scenario seems to have caused her more stress than it was worth. However, that seems to have added stress to P1 who doesn't want to be there without her sister in tow. This whole COVID, being home and no activities, has truly taken a toll on our already introverted girls. The plus side, is we are a lot closer as a family. I just wonder what kind of life we will live now with so much back and forth.

Maybe today's cold and gloomy weather has affected my mood. Until next time....
