Bug stories....

Image
Kris and I got quite the scare yesterday when Piper decided to take a tumble while collecting bugs at daycare. According to Allie, her co-bug collector, Piper was carrying a bucket of Rollie Pollies, Slugs and more when she lost her footing on the deck and fell head over heels, literally. Allie says Piper smacked the back of her head on the concrete. Our daycare provider, Cheryl, rushed Piper inside and did the usual work-over. Tyenol, ice and checking her pupils. After a few minutes, Cheryl says Piper seemed fine and was allowed to go back outside. A few minutes after that, Cheryl noticed Piper had fallen asleep on the trampoline. So once again Piper was rushed inside the house and checked over, all while Cheryl called me to fill me in on what happened. Of course I texted Kris, who was on the ambulance about what happened and called our pediatrician who said to bring her on in. On my way over to daycare, Cheryl said Piper started vomitting so I knew it was more than just a bump on her

Lots to Celebrate!

M ay has always been such a busy month in our family. It starts off with my mom's birthday, which was a big one this year! She turned 50 and looks fabulous! I hope those genes will continue to be passed down! She is such a wonderful mom and an even better grandma! The girls adore her and are so blessed to have two fantastic grandmas all within a 5 minute drive! Then we head into Mother's Day which happened to be on my Oma's(German for Grandma) birthday this year. What a great day to be celebrated! She has Alzheimers and while we've had some up's and down's since her diagnosis, she seems to be happy with where life has taken her for now! Of course, there are some Dodds birthdays in there as well! Both of my sister-in-laws celebrate their days, Brandi in the middle of the month and Heather at the end of the month. With mine somewhere in between, my mother-in-law Pat has alot to remember, but she handles it well! My best friend of 25 years, Deneen, turns 30 two day

Random ramblings of a mad, fat woman!

Why is it that some people seem to have the willpower of a iron horse? I mean seriously, how hard can it be to lose weight, say no to the chocolate in the breakroom, find time to juggle exercise, work and family? WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE and why can't they share their secrets? I weigh 239 lbs today. I weighed 189lbs 9 years ago and freaked out about being so close to 200. Well I think I never actually made it to 200, I just ran right past that number and kept on going didn't I? Now I"m not saying I haven't been heavier, I most certainly have. Between the P's I was up to 270 and at a size 24! Those numbers terrify me! I am at least out of the 20's on sizes and am in a size 18, but I want to be a 12 NOW! I want to be below that 200 mark NOW! I want to be able to resist the bad that is so good in a fountain Coke. I want to be able to get up 30 minutes earlier every day so I can get a workout in! I want to be able to play with my girls and run with them without getting

Enjoying the week!

Dinner was ready when I got home from work last night. It was such a nice surprise. Kris even had the girls chicken all cut up and ready to go. I love moments like that, the unexpected surprises! I have such an amazing family, I am truly blessed!

The mysterious penny

It's been a week since Parker woke Kris and I up, saying her tummy hurt. It was midnight last Friday morning and I asked her why her tummy hurt. She simply said "I ate my money". We didn't know whether to believe her or not, earlier in the week a girl choked on a nickel at daycare. (No worries, this child is notorious for eating non-edible things) Needless to say, we were certain in those wee hours of the morning, that Parker was just remembering the nickel episode. However, later that morning as I was getting her and sister ready for daycare, I noticed my old wallet next to her bed. Have I ever mentioned this child is a bit of a hoarder? I guess that will be a post for another day. Anyway, I noticed the change pocket of the wallet had been opened. So I took some change out of my new wallet and asked Parker which one she thought she ate. She pointed right to the penny and then to her tummy and said "I ate dat one, it is making my tummy hurt!" So we sent her
